Enabling Innovators at 2nd Annual Innovation Summit

During the 2nd Annual Innovation Summit: Growing and Enabling Innovators hosted by Darden Executive Education in the Washington, D.C., area on 16 May, over 60 leaders came together from various companies and industries, including U.S. military, banking/investing, healthcare, IT, nonprofit, etc. to hear from Professor Ed Hess, author of Humility is the New Smart and Learn or Die.

While many of the participants were facing specific challenges in trying to grow and innovate, there was a consensus that what has been successful for organizations in the past isn't going to be sustainable in the future. "We need to look at new ways of doing things on a regular basis," said participant Jen Sovada with the U.S. Air Force. "Oftentimes we get stuck in these paradigms where we are comfortable, but we're not making any progress."

Darden and Virginia Bio Host Annual Virginia Bioscience Reception

In January Darden Executive Education traveled to the West Coast to take part in the 35th Annual J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference. As the largest healthcare investment symposium in the industry, the conference attracts more than 450 private and public companies and over 9000 investors to the San Francisco Area.

Darden Executive Education Hosts Design Thinking Event in Singapore

On Friday, 7 October in Singapore, design thinking and innovation expert Jeanne Liedtka shared insights on design thinking from her own research, from her work with various types of organizations, and from participants in her courses. Attendees at the event represented large companies, multinationals, family-owned businesses, non-profits, and consultants from several industries, including manufacturing and industrial, education, financial, healthcare and more. Many of the participants had previously taken Jeanne's Design Thinking MOOC on Coursera or courses in her Design Thinking Specialization at Darden Online.
